With over 60 years of combined experience, Ecos Research Principals bring unique insight and practical direction to a wide variety of energy technology projects.

Chris began his career in energy efficiency at the Natural Resources Defense Council in San Francisco, where he supported NRDC’s ground-breaking initiatives on climate change, automotive fuel efficiency, electric vehicles, efficient lighting, and utility regulatory reform. He co-founded and led the California Compact, a partnership between NRDC, LBNL, and California’s utilities to encourage greater sales of compact fluorescent lighting.
Chris currently lectures around the country on opportunities to achieve ZNE through changes in plug loads, lighting, and occupant behavior. He designed and built an all-electric zero net energy (ZNE) home in 2012-2013 with integrated, disaggregated energy monitoring and electric vehicle charging. Chris holds a B.A. in environmental studies from Trinity University and an M.A. in Energy & Resources from the University of California at Berkeley.
